Teams always like to finish out their regular season strong heading into the playoffs, and Presque Isle girls’ coach Jeff Hudson said that was certainly the case Thursday in Caribou.

FRESHMAN Emily Lagerstrom gets a shot off against Caribou’s Shyanne Barnes during Thursday’s regular season finale. PI won, 76-43, to end the regular season at a perfect 18-0.
The Wildcats defeated the Vikings, 76-43, and as a result closed out their third consecutive undefeated regular season.
PI finished with an 18-0 mark and its overall winning streak, since the beginning of the 2011-12 season, is now at 62 games.
More importantly to Hudson, the team is playing well heading into the post-season.
“I thought we played great,” said the veteran coach, whose No. 1-ranked team awaits Tuesday’s winner of the Camden Hills vs. Gardiner preliminary playoff game in the Eastern Maine Class B quarterfinals on Saturday at 4:35 p.m. at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
Hudson believes junior guard Hannah Graham has been consistent throughout the year, but was especially good Thursday with 26 points and a brilliant floor game.
Krystal Kingsbury, another junior who plays in the frontcourt, also sparkled with 21 points. Sophomore Regan Nelson came off the bench to score 10 points for the two-time defending state champions.
The Easton Bears’ boys coach, Dillon Kingsbury, said his team put together its best game of the season Thursday in the 50-34 home triumph against Washburn, the No. 1-ranked team in EM Class D.
The team became the first in school history to go undefeated.
“It’s a great accomplishment, but I told the guys afterwards that the good news is we just went 18-0 and the bad news is tomorrow we’re officially 0-0, just like the rest of Class D,” Kingsbury said.
Hunter Turner, the team’s talented senior center, was a force inside and scored a game-high 20 points. Sophomore forward Drew Sotomayor added 10 as the Bears used a 21-7 scoring run in the fourth quarter to break open a close game.
Noah Caron scored 11 and Jarrett Olson had 10 for the Beavers, who fell to 15-3 but retained the top ranking.
