After a very busy weekend responding to several snowmobile crashes, Maine game wardens have urged riders to exercise caution when riding the trails.
“Many of these crashes were the result of driving too fast,” said Corporal John MacDonald of the Maine Warden Service. “We remind all riders to ride to the right of the trail, always maintain safe control of your snowmobile, and never drink and drive.”
On Friday, Feb. 7, game wardens investigated a single snowmobile crash in Dyer Brook. Richard Cordero, 54, of Peabody, Mass., struck a tree next to the trail and sustained a leg injury. Cordero was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital. Alcohol was not a factor in this incident. The rented snowmobile had minor damage.
