Man taken into custody

BRIDGEWATER, Maine — On Feb. 12, at approximately 6 p.m. State Police responded to the Bridgewater Gulf Station for a report of a male subject inside the store making statements related to everyone blowing up.    Troopers, Aroostook County Sheriff’s Deputies and Border Patrol all responded and secured the 30-year-old Houlton man. The man’s name has not been released as he was not charged with any crime.
Further investigation revealed the man admitted to being under the influence of bath salts and was transported to the Aroostook Medical Center for a medical evaluation.
A Maine State Police bomb technician and his K-9 responded and cleared the scene to ensure it was safe and no explosives were brought in the store or in the man’s vehicle. The case remains under investigation and will be reviewed by the Aroostook County District Attorney’s Office for potential charges.  The store was closed for approximately two hours.
