DYER BROOK – Maybelle O. Michaud, 80, died February 16, 2014 in Houlton. She was born October 11, 1933, in Merrill, the daughter of Miles and Jesse (Curren) Fitzgerald. She graduated from Oakfield High School in 1951.
Maybelle’s greatest enjoy-ment in life came from being with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many other children who came to her kitchen in search of cookies.
She will be missed by four daughters, Sharon Edwards and her husband, Stephen Porter of Crystal, Katherine and her husband, Edward Bell of Calais, Susan and her husband, Jack Phipps of Coatesville, Indiana, and Patricia King and Roland Verrier of Dyer Brook; seven grandchildren, Holly Bell and her husband, Bryan Ingram, Sarah Bell and fiance, Michael Thomas, Sam Bell, William Phipps and his fiancee, Mandy Willett, Charles and his wife, Vanessa Phipps, Raeanna and her husband, Thomas Breton II and Ryland King and their father, Robert King; five great-grandchildren, Aidan Ingram, Olivia and Lillian Phipps, Alyssiah and Bentley Breton; three brothers, William and Sue Fitzgerald of Connecticut, Dean and Jane Fitzgerald of Millinocket, and Morris “Skip” and Cheryl Fitzgerald of Hampden; two sisters, Helen and Bob Mitchell of New Hampshire, and Faye and Tom Austin of Bridgton; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband, William F. Edwards and her second husband, Raymond E. Michaud and two sisters, Marie White and Jeannine Cratty.
The family wishes to thank the ER department and the staff on the third floor of Houlton Regional Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of Maybelle.
Friends may call at noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 22 at Bowers Funeral Home, 64 Sherman Street, Island Falls where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Robertson.
