A “Winter Uplift Retreat” is planned for Saturday, Feb. 22, by the United Methodist Women’s group. Ethel Brushett will lead the retreat on the topic of “Questions God Asks” from the book authored by Hunter Beckelhymer.
Assisting Brushett is Liz Anderson, Linda Maraya Husted and Pastor Pat Goodwin. A sample of the topic includes “What do you see?”, “Where are you?”, “Where is your brother?” and “What are you doing here?” based on Old Testament stories.
Brushett has 42 years’ experience as a pastor’s wife. When Rev. Don Brushett retired, she continued with leadership of Christian women.
Mary and Chuck Taylor extend an invitation for all women interested in discussing the Old Testament Biblical questions to their home at 58 Elm St., Houlton from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A light luncheon is planned with fun and fellowship, following the serious discussion.
The United Methodist Women will meet Saturday, March 1 at 10 a.m. at the Houlton United Methodist Church on Military Street for its regular meeting.
