Spaghetti supper

The Mapleton Daze Committee would like you to mark your calendars for its fund-raiser supper Saturday, March 15. The dinner will be served from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Lions’ Hall. Plates will be $8 for adults and children 12 and under are free. This is one of their major fundraisers toward the annual festival in June.

Best Dog Contest

Fudge, of Chapman, was the winner of the Best Dog Contest sponsored by the Mapleton Town Office.
Owned by Diane Shaw, Fudge was a stray, picked up and brought to the Central Aroostook Humane Society in Presque Isle this past summer. Shaw went to the shelter and adopted Fudge July 9. Dr. Andrea Pesut, her vet, said she was about 2 years old, and was a hound/retriever mix.
According to Shaw, “Fudge is a very sweet girl, loves to cuddle and play with toys. She likes long walks and is always ready for a car ride.” Shaw encourages anyone thinking about adding a pet to their family to consider adopting from a local shelter.

Groups needed

The Mapleton Daze Committee is looking for volunteer groups that would be willing to provide free activities for children during the June festival. The activities for children will be moved to the soccer field at the Mapleton Community Pool. If any group is interested in organizing games or other outdoor activities, please contact Nola Farley at 551-5665 or at nola.farley@gmail.com.
