Maine State Police Trooper Jill Monahan responded to the Front Ridge Road in Littleton for a report of a two vehicle crash on Saturday at 3:45 p.m.
Ernest Buchalla, 72, of Oakfield was southbound on the Front Ridge Road and had stopped in the roadway.
Andrea Carmichael, 34, of Littleton was also southbound behind Buchalla. Carmichael was unable to stop and had to take evasive action by swerving to the right to avoid striking Buchalla. Carmichael’s vehicle struck the snowbank and rolled onto its side, Carmichael sustained an injury to her knee and was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital via Houlton Ambulance.
Buchalla was operating a 2004 Jeep and his vehicle was not damaged and he was uninjured.
Carmichael was operating a 1997 Chevrolet pickup that sustained significant damage in the crash and was towed from the scene.
