Family Fun Night
The family fun night will now be held on Sunday, March 2 from 2-4 p.m. at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center. Join us for a moving, fun night with inflatables, games, music and more. Admission is $5 per family. Proceeds will benefit future wellness center programs. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Everyone is welcome.
Kids’ playgroup
The recreation department will provide gym space for parents and toddlers. This is a self-guided program which meets Wednesdays from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Participants can bring toys. Please no black rubber-wheeled toys. Please check posted schedules for activities that may result in the cancellation of this open time.
Ski For Life
The Ski For Life Program is for youths in grades 6-8. On March 13, 20, 27 and April 3, a trip will be made to Bigrock in Mars Hill for a fun-filled evening of downhill skiing and or snowboarding. Youth will be picked up at the Caribou Middle School each day at 2:45 p.m. and will return to the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center at 8 p.m.
The fee for this program is $80, which includes transportation, equipment rental, a lift ticket and a mandatory group ski lesson. Participants are asked to bring a bag lunch or money for dinner. A minimum of six students must be pre-registered by March 6 for the program to take place. For additional information please call 493-4224.
Spring training
The spring training baseball program is for boys and girls ages 9-12 and will run from March 25 through April 17. This fundamentals instruction clinic meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4:30 p.m.
Each session will deal with the mechanics and the breakdown of individual positions on a baseball team. Topics covered include proper warm-ups, stretching, pitching, hitting, infield/outfield play and situation instruction. Pre-registration is required.
