The Easton Recreation Department’s Winter Carnival will be held this weekend, Feb. 28, March 1 and 2. Friday evening there will be pizza and game night starting at 5:30 in the elementary school cafeteria. Pizza, chips and soda will be served. Families should bring their favorite games. Donations will be accepted towards supper. A tournament will begin at 6:30 p.m. sharp. The cost is $2.
On Saturday morning there will be sliding on Kinney Hill (Route 1A) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Concessions will be sold. Please bring your own sled.
There will be a potluck supper at 6 p.m., to honor the boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams for their amazing seasons, in the elementary school cafeteria. The third- and fourth-grade team will take on their parents at 6:30 p.m. and the grades 5 and 6 team at 7:30 p.m. Concessions will be sold. Please make plans to join us for a fun-filled, community weekend.
Science Center Fund-raising Auction
The Aroostook Auction Barn in Easton will host a benefit auction on Saturday, May 3, and will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to the Francis Malcolm Institute’s fund-raising campaign. Organizers need your help to make this event a success. They are looking for items to put up for auction. Business owners, please consider a donation of goods and/or services to show your support. Thinking about spring cleaning? They will accept most items (no clothing please) such as antiques, furniture, appliances, tools, toys, etc. Call 488-5451 or 540-5101 with any questions or to arrange a delivery/pickup of a donation.
Tupperware fundraiser
Today is the last day for Easton Elementary’s Tupperware fundraiser, Money raised goes toward new cafeteria tables.
Easton PCO update
The Easton Parent Community Organization will be holding a Scholastic Book Fair March 10-14 and are in need of volunteers. Contact the elementary school or email epco@eastonschools.org for more information. The group is always collecting Boxtops for Education; don’t forget, they have expiration dates!
Upcoming Rec programs
BOKWA — Theresa Bonner, certified BOKWA fitness instructor, will show the simple steps that make BOKWA a perfect workout for people of all ages. On Wednesday, Feb. 26, there will be a “taster” class held at Easton Elementary School. Registration starts at 6:15 p.m. and class begins at 6:30 p.m. A week BOKWA Fitness class will run on Wednesdays from March 5 through April 9. The cost is $25 session. The class will be held from 6-7 p.m. in the elementary school gym. Please register with Easton Rec before the first class!
Recreation calendar
Wednesday, Feb. 26 — Junior Activities at the Hall from 9:30-11 a.m. Big Rock field trip departing from the elementary school at 3 p.m. Contact the Recreation Department to register and for more information. Grades 5 and 6 co-ed basketball practice from 4:30-6 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 27 — Happy Days Club starting at 11:30 a.m. in the Recreation Room at the Manor. Grades 5 and 6 basketball at Caribou Rec Center at 4:45 p.m.
Friday, Feb. 28 — Junior Activities 9:30-11 a.m. at the Hall. Sr. Game Day starting at 11:15 a.m. in the Recreation Room at the Manor. Please bring a bag lunch.
Saturday, March 1 —The third and fourth grade team will take on their parents at 6:30 p.m. and the fifth and sixth team at 7:30 p.m.
Monday, March 3 — Adult Nutrition Class at the Manor starting at 11 a.m. The cost is $3. “Gluten Free” After-school cooking program at the Hall until 4:15 p.m. Free.
Tuesday, March 4 — Open gym after school in the elementary school gym for grades one and up. Children should be picked up at 4 p.m.
Wednesday, March 5 — Junior Activities at the Hall from 9:30-11 a.m. Little Bears (grade one only) practice 2:45-4 p.m. in the elementary school gym. Please pick up your child by 4 p.m. Bokwa class starting at 6:30 p.m. in the elementary school gym.
