The Barry Lorom Trucking baseball team overpowered the Elks Club in the Minor League baseball championship of the Houlton Little League last Friday night at the Rotary Field.
Barry Lorom Trucking took the 2014 title behind Garrett Harvey’s 12 strikeouts for a 15-1 victory.
Kadan Neureuther opened the game with a single and after the first out, the Barry Lorom Trucking team took advantage of three walks and a double by Justin Cook to take a 5-0 lead. They extended their lead with another five-run second inning, which included three singles (JR Policano, Neureuther and Garett Harvey) and several walks.
In the third, Barry Lorom Trucking added two more runs, as they capitalized on walks, and continued that trend in the fourth scoring three more runs. During the fourth, Policano connected for his second hit of the game.
With two outs in the fourth, Elks broke into the scoring column as Sebastian Torrey crossed the plate.
