The annual Houlton High School Alumni Social will be held this year on Thursday, July 3 at 4 p.m. at Houlton Community Golf Course. The annual alumni scramble is being held on Saturday, July 5. This nine-hole event will be played Saturday morning at 9 a.m. There is still room for more teams, so call the clubhouse to sign up now. You do not have to be a Houlton alumnus to play. Congratulations to the June Jamboree winners Bob Gray and Greg Palmer. Their net score of 61 just edged the runner-up team of Mike Fleming and Tom Moakler by one stroke. The Harriet Gray/Pam Mailman team placed third with a six under 66.
Junior Golf begins this coming Tuesday, July 1. Registration will be at 8 a.m. at the clubhouse.
Twilight League action is well underway, and defending champs Bob Gray/Jerry York look like the team to beat again this year. The Bob Askren/Vaughn Putnam and Gabe Goodwin/Daniel Peabody team are chasing, only 1.5 points behind. In the Ladies League the Ashley/Jen Wallace team and the Jenn Carr/Beth Hunt teams have a commanding seven-stroke lead over the nearest challengers.
