The Washburn Salmon Brook Historical Society will be holding a Dessert Hour and meeting on Thursday, July 17, at 6 p.m. in the museum barn.
Anyone interested in volunteering with the museum is welcome to attend. Please bring a dessert to share.
Quilt Show
The Washburn Salmon Brook Historical Society will be sponsoring their annual Quilt Show and Tea on Sunday, Aug. 3, at the museum. Another Lila Flewelling quilt will be on display and there will also be a craft fair and silent auction. The tea is not just for women, men are welcome to attend. There will be three sittings this year at 12:30, 1:45 and 3 p.m. Tickets are $10, seating is limited, tickets must be purchased in advance. August Festival
The August Festival Committee is busy planning for the 34th annual Washburn August Festival, scheduled for Aug. 15-17, which will again be filled with many exciting and enjoyable festivities.
The August Festival Committee relies on community support to keep this wonderful event going year after year and needs your help by volunteering your time and talents to help in any way you can. The Committee will be working hard during the months ahead to make the Washburn August Festival a success. If your group or civic organization would like to partake in the Festival, call Cindy Boot, Chairman at 768-1375 or email her at cindyboot@live.com. You are encouraged to reserve your spots as soon as possible.
We are also seeking sponsorships in the form of cash donations of any amount to provide the level of festivities that you have grown to expect and deserve. If you would like to make a much-appreciated cash donation, you can mail it to: PO Box 45, Washburn, ME 04786.
Washburn ATV Club
Members of the Washburn ATV Club have been busy grading and tilling area trails, doing repairs and picking up railroad spikes and rocks, making the routes more user-friendly and enjoyable.
The club held its monthly potluck and meeting on July 3 at the clubhouse. Plans are underway to hold a Washburn August Festival ATV Poker Run. The club may also host a hotdog roast sometime in July. For more information on upcoming activities, visit the club’s Facebook page for updates.
