In Men’s Twilite League the title race for each division is very close. The Porter/Ian Gervais team has a healthy lead in their division, while the Dan Peabody/Gabe Goodwin team and the Jon Turner/Ray Mailman team each lead their divisions by a slim one point. In the Ladies’ Twilite League the Wallace tandem of Ashley and Jen, hold a comfortable lead over the second-place team of Jen Carr and Beth Hunt.
Presidents Cup match play continues for the men with play now into the “Sweet Sixteen” bracket. The ladies will shortly begin their pairings. Check the bulletin board for upcoming matches and good luck to all players.
The annual Houlton Golf Club Championship will be held on the weekend of Aug. 16-17 this year. The two-day stroke play event will hopefully draw a competitive field again this year. Defending champs Jerry York (men’s division), Misty Marino (ladies’ category) and Ryan Dee (juniors) all are ready to defend their championships. Sign-up sheets are in the clubhouse now, so get your names on the list.
We will be holding a Couples Scramble on Friday evening, Aug. 1 at 5:30 p.m. Social hour and the grill will be available after play. Bring your spouse or significant and join us for a fun evening.
The annual County Open Championship is fast approaching — Aug. 9. The course will be closed that day from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., so why not sign up to play in the event. Call the clubhouse for details.
Finally, the annual Babe Caron Memorial Member/Guest Tournament will soon be upon us, so members should start to get their partners ready for this year’s event.
