St. Thomas wins fishing derby

Greenland Cove held its 2014 Fishing Derby on East Grand Lake from Sept. 6-20, 2014 with anglers competing in three categories of fish.
John St. Thomas of Presque Isle came away with the largest bass, which weighed in at 3 lbs., 10 oz. and measured 19-1/2 inches.


The winners from the competition by category were as follows:
Salmon — 1, Gerry Tripp, 3 pounds, 4 ounces, 21.5 inches; 2, Dell Wilbur, 2 pounds, 8 ounces, 20 7/8-inches.
Togue — 1, Rita Weaver, 2 pounds, 8 ounces, 20 3/4-inches; and 2, Tony Tripp, 2 pounds, 3 ounces, 20-inches.
Bass — 1, St. Thomas; 2, Sarah Grant, 2 pounds, 5 ounces, 17 1/16-inches.
