CARIBOU, Maine — National Honor Society members of Caribou High School culminated a three-week-long supplies drive by delivering boxes of items to the Bread of Life Soup Kitchen on Dec. 19.
For the past three weeks, CHS homerooms have been collecting cleaning supplies, paper products and condiments into photocopier paper boxes gathered by Ernie Caron of the custodial staff; the supply drive, orchestrated by NHC members, gathered over $2,000 worth of items.
“This food drive was a friendly competition between the various homerooms; Saint Nicholas will visit the two homerooms which collected the most items, with a bit of holiday cheer consisting of hot chocolate and doughnuts on December 22,” wrote Corresponding Secretary of the Caribou NHS Chapter Bria Judd in a press release.
In addition to the supplies, Bread of Life officials were presented with a monetary donation.
The National Honor Society of Caribou High School is the sponsor for this annual event, which was overseen this year by chairpersons Mackenzie Deveau and Irene Thibodeau.
The president of the Caribou Chapter is Michael Marquis, the vice president is Kristopher Michaud, the recording secretary is Sarah Doak, the corresponding secretary is Bria Judd and the executive committee member is Morgan Outing. The Caribou NHS Chapter adviser is Kenneth W. Atcheson II.
