Swim team debuts in meet at Limestone pool

    LIMESTONE, Maine — The Caribou swim team participated in their first meet of the season Saturday, with the Presque Isle Wildcats and Orono Red Riots also making the trip to the Limestone Community School pool.
The Orono squads swept the competition.
Caribou’s Austin Scott had a state meet-qualifying time of 2 minutes and 29.93 seconds in the 200 individual medley and also qualified in the 100 butterfly with a 1:01.84 clocking. He placed first in both events.
Teammate Dominic Judd was third in the 100 fly at 1:09.82 and also qualified. Judd was also third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:20.06.
Olivia Engstrom came in second in the 500 freee in 7:34.26.
Engstrom was also third in the 200 free (2:47.43) and Courtney Cote was third in both the 100 free (1:21.45) and the 100 back (1:32.45).
Two of the Caribou girls relay teams garnered third-place performances.
