PRESQUE ISLE – Marie Blanche Bois, (née Page), 82, was born in Drummond, NB, Canada, on August 24, 1933, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on September 2, 2015, following an over five-year courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born into a farming family and was the youngest of 10 children to Peter Page and his wife, Marguerite (née Beaulieu).
Blanche was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, sister and friend.
Blanche was predeceased by her mother and father, along with seven of her siblings: Clarence, Annette, Hermine, Ephrem, Kenneth, Ida and Isabelle. She is survived by her sister, Délécie; and her brother, Wilmer and his wife, Sadie, all from Grand Falls, NB.
Blanche was married to Eloi Bois (formerly of St. André and St. Leonard, NB) from July 27, 1954, until the time of his death in December 1986; they were married for over 32 years and resided in Presque Isle.
She is also survived by her three sons, their wives, their children, and their grandchildren. Her sons (and wives) are: Dan (and Colleen, née Schroeder) of Gorham, ME, Bob (and Shelly, née Michaud) of Orlando, FL, and Steven (and Amy, née Doughty) of Greenland, NH; her grandchildren (and spouses) are: Justin of Cranston, RI, Elizabeth née Bois (and Seth) Knight of Windham, ME, Karissa née Bois (and Scott) Juday of Montgomery, AL, Kyle of Auburn, AL, and Tyler and Andrew of Greenland, NH. Her great-grandchildren are: Chase and Arabelle of Montgomery, Alabama.
Blanche served the Lord as an active member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle as a Eucharistic Minister and as a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Blanche will also be remembered as a woman who put the importance of her family first. She was always “quick to forgive” anyone who had trespassed against her. And she consistently advocated this life-philosophy to her family and friends. From Matthew 5:7 – “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” Blanche held no ill will toward anyone and she had no vices. She will also be remembered for her beauty and putting on her best appearance, even when suffering. Blanche’s children considered her a model of courage when faced with the inevitable end to her long and wonderful life. She will be greatly missed, yet comfort should come to all knowing that she died the Grace of a happy death and now walks with the Lord.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, Sept 9, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
