PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Maine’s 2nd District congressman, Bruce Poliquin, will sponsor a workshop in Presque Isle, one of four statewide, to help Maine fire departments apply for the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program. This year, so far, FEMA has awarded 16 grants.
Presque Isle’s session will be held Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Presque Isle Fire Department, 43 North St. Participants will learn about the AFG program and tips for submitting a strong application.
“These workshops will help our fire departments be better prepared to submit quality Assistance to Firefighter Grant applications to FEMA and hopefully be successful in receiving them,” Poliquin said.
