Michael Bruce of Fort Fairfield will be in Brookline, Mass. Sunday for the Drive, Chip and Putt regional competition after he won a sub-regional held in Framingham, Mass. Aug. 4, 2015.
Bruce captured first place in the 7-9 year-old age division out of 15 competitors. He was first in chipping, second in putting and fifth in driving.
The event is sponsored by the Professional Golfers Association and began for Bruce with a state championship earlier this summer. A victory Sunday would advance Bruce into the national finals, set during the week of The Masters golf tourney in Augusta, Ga. April 2016.
He is the son of Melissa and James Bruce.
