Washburn athletes ‘All in for Addie’

If you haven’t heard about Addie Woods yet, she is a sophomore at Hodgdon High School and a member of their basketball team who was diagnosed with leukemia in November. She currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment in Brewer.

Woods has been receiving support from teams all across The County, now including Washburn’s varsity basketball teams. The fundraiser here in Washburn was put together by a few of the parents and the team members.

They sold whoopie pies and took up cash donations, and the team had orange shirts in support of Addie. The Varsity Club also donated their share of the 50/50 raffle held during the games, and some community members said that if the winner of the 50/50 raffle donated their winnings back to Addie, they would match the amount.
All together the varsity teams raised about $2,050 to benefit Woods.
