SOMERSWORTH, New Hampshire – Judith Leah Joe, 75, passed away on January 20, 2017, after a long battle with cancer.
Born July 10, 1941, in Bangor, the daughter of Arthur and Lillian (Russell) Plissey. She worked early on in life as a Quality Control Inspector in various factories in Northern Maine and New Hampshire. She loved cooking, crafts and being around family. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip Joe Jr.; brother, Verle Plissey; son, Mark Hewitt; and grandson, Charlie Hewitt. She is survived by four children: Steven and Beryl Hewitt of Spanaway, WA, Brian and Wendy Hewitt of Anderson Island, WA, Karen and Mark Thomas of Dover, NH, and Philip (JR) and Sarah Joe of Rochester, NH. She is also survived by grandchildren: Shawn Greene, Shannon Hewitt, Megan Hewitt, Justin Hewitt, Jeremy Hewitt, Adeline Hewitt, Ashley Greene, Cody Thomas, Morgan Hewitt, Travis Hewitt, Ryan Joe, Eric Joe and Haley Bracket; seven great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Benji. An hour of calling will be held on January 25, from 12 – 1 p.m., at Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave. in Dover, NH. A service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
