OAKFIELD, Maine & OAKDALE, Conn. – Dennis A. Davis, 79, went home to be with his Lord Dec. 20, 2016, at his residence in the presence of his loving wife, Marjorie of 55 years. He was born in Montecarlo, ME, to Thomas Davis and Bessie Brannon Davis.
Dennis is survived by his much loved children and son-in-laws: Kevin Davis and his partner, Gina, Denise and her husband, Phillip Simon, Molly and her husband, Martin Crabb; two precious grandchildren, Brittany and Tyler. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Cuban Crisis as an Assistant GunnerBTRY B-2HOW BR77th ARTY, serving proudly under President Kennedy. During that time, the couple was stationed at Fort Lewis Army base Washington State. On a short notice, his unit was put on alert,and sent to Alaska waiting on orders from Kennedy. Upon honorable discharge, they made their home in Connecticut. Dennis enjoyed time spent with family and friends, in his home town of Oakfield Dennis retired from Frito-Lay as a route salesman, and was passionate about driving large vehicles. He was extremely proud of his many awards, for his 63 years of safe driving.
Dennis and Marjorie enjoyed many years of traveling with their RV camping club. In addition to biking, camping, square dancing, and many trips to the Freeburg Fair. Dennis was a wonderful family man and provider, husband, father and papa. He is and will be missed immensely. A military grave side service will held in Oakfield, at a date to be determined. Contributions can be made to the Oakfield Baptist Church, in memory of Dennis.
