MONTICELLO & BENEDICTA, Maine — Lucy T. McNally, 76, died January 18, 2017 at her home. She was born July 9, 1940 in Houlton, the daughter of Everett and Mary Ellen (Qualey) McAvoy. Lucy worked in Patten as a CNA then as LPN and RN in Houlton and Lincoln. She received her RN degree at the age of 52.

Lucy loved shopping and playing cards every week with Lois Sylvia, Lois Cassidy and Phyllis Oliver but she especially loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Earl McNally of Patten; children, Joe and Marie McNally of Sherman, David and Collette McNally of Sherman, Brian and Tammy McNally of Winslow, Teresa and Dale Jameson of Monticello, Timmy and Renee McNally of Sherman, Katrina and Phil Lento of Blaine; a daughter-in-law, Holly McNally of Sherman; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ann Cunning-ham and Mary Hunt of Sherman, Esther Hines Rush of Benedicta; brothers, Marty McAvoy of Wisconsin and Michael McAvoy of Arkansas; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; two sons, Kenneth McNally and Baby McNally; two brothers, Ebbie McNally and Albert McNally.

Friends called 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Houlton where a Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1 p.m. with Father David Raymond Celebrant. A spring interment will be in the St. Benedict’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Way, Memphis, TN 38105.
