Ark Animal Sanctuary – week of December 27, 2017

As another year comes to ca close we at The Ark stand back and look at our accomplishments for the year.

Our volunteers have worked so hard and they deserve a huge pat on the back for a job well done. They are currently caring for about 61 cats. They make sure their rooms are cleaned and their food and water dishes are always full.  They groom them and play with them and treat them with love and respect.

Occasionally they fall in love with one and welcome them into their home. They greet the public and welcome them into our new facility and make sure they get the full tour. At the end of the day there is no paycheck, their only reward is making the difference in the lives of so many animals.

They love what they do and we love them for that. Our work would not be possible without them. There are volunteers that make vet runs for sick or injured animals. A phone call is placed and there is never any hesitation, they do what needs to be done to help an animal.

There are volunteers who manage to get their husbands involved whenever there is a project that needs to be done. The ones that stand outside in the cold weather for the bake sales that we have and the ones that cook for those bake sales. You are all the best and your commitment to The Ark is unbelievable. You are what makes it a success

Our supporters are another intricate part of The Ark.  Whether it be ink cartridges being dropped off at the salon or donations of food or litter, these things are all so important to the success of The Ark. All of the blankets that have been hand made with love to keep our babies warm are so very much appreciated. Those of you who have chosen to adopt an Ark kitty and welcome it into your home and give it the love it so deserves we cannot thank you enough.

The Ark is not run by any one person — it is run by a multitude of people.  There is the person that does our Facebook page that puts so much time and effort into it. The parents who bring their children to volunteer and teach them responsible pet ownership. They are all a part of our success.

It has been a long journey to where we are today. We do not take anything for granted. We are thankful for all of the support you have given us and we promise to work even harder in the new year and help as many animals as possible.

From everyone at The Ark we hope you have a very Happy and safe New Year. Thank you for your continued support and as always thank you for reading our column.
