FORT KENT, Maine — Aroostook County commissioners Wednesday approved the renewal of two deputy sheriffs and the hiring of a new part-time dispatcher at their monthly meeting in Fort Kent.

Corey Saucier of Connor has been with the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department since 2015 and serves with the patrol division. The board approved his commission as a full-time deputy, according to chief Deputy Shawn Gillen.

Commissioners also approved the renewal of Kenna Prue’s commission as a part-time deputy. Prue, who lives in Westfield, primarily works as a process server for the department, according to Gillen.

The sheriff’s department also recommended the hiring of Jamie Lynn Heath as a part-time dispatcher, which the commissioners approved Wednesday.

The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department has more than 60 employees, including for jail operations. It regularly responds to more than 10,000 calls each year in its 7,000 square mile service area and provides mutual aid to local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
