HOULTON, Maine — Katahdin Trust recently held a special employee appreciation event and was pleased to present the 2017 Top of the Mountain Commitment to Community Award to Katie Hill, assistant vice president, bank operations manager, in recognition of her community involvement.

“Every year our employees dedicate thousands of hours of volunteer time,” said Jon J. Prescott, Katahdin Trust president and CEO. “In fact, last year they provided nearly 8,000 hours sharing their time in the classroom teaching a financial literacy class, coaching athletic teams, helping animals, and supporting hundreds of other non-profit organizations and community events. With this new award we are excited to honor those employees who go above and beyond to assist a variety of causes in their communities.”

In honor of Katahdin Trust’s 100th Anniversary, the bank introduced the new Top of the Mountain Commitment to Community Award to recognize employees who go above and beyond giving back to their local community.

Hill, who joined Katahdin Trust in 2003, supports a variety of organizations throughout the Greater Houlton area including Jobs for Maine Grads, The Salvation Army, Houlton Rotary Club, Houlton High School Alumni Association, and Southern Aroostook Minor Hockey Association as a youth hockey coach. In recognition for her service, Katie’s award included a choice of gifts specially selected to suit her passion for outdoor adventures.

“We are extremely pleased to honor Katie Hill with the first annual Top of the Mountain Commitment to Community Award,” said Prescott. “She is a terrific representative for Katahdin Trust and most deserving of this award.”
