Land Use Planning Commission will highlight adjacency September 19

CARIBOU, Maine — The Land Use Planning Commission will discuss proposed changes to the adjacency principle with the Aroostook County Commissioners at their meeting at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Caribou Courthouse’s administrative hearing room.

Prior to that, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., LUPC staff will be available at the courthouse to discuss the proposal or answer questions.

The LUPC is proposing to change the adjacency principle, which is a first screen for where people can apply to create new zones for development (for example, a business or residential subdivision).
