Harvest Festival, color run set for Saturday

HOULTON, Maine — The annual Harvest Festival returns to downtown Houlton this weekend to herald in the upcoming autumn season.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Market Square will be closed to vehicle traffic, to allow people to walk freely around the Community Market vendors and special booths and games set up for the Harvest Festival.

Brad Hutchinson will be providing live music for the event, which includes pumpkin painting, tractor train rides, children’s games and a barbecue.

In addition, the Houlton High School Classes of 2019 and 2021 will host a 5K Color Splash fun run starting at 10 a.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Millar Civic Center. The event is a fundraiser for both classes.

The race is an untimed fun run featuring a designated course. Throughout the course, participants will experience color splash zones where they will be doused in color. There will also be a final color toss celebration.
