Roger L. Higgins

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Roger L. Higgins, 59, of Presque Isle, passed away September 7, 2018, with complications following heart surgery. He was born on February 1, 1959, in Presque Isle, to Phillip and Lois (Lovely) Higgins.
Roger was a graduate of Presque Isle High School, class of 1977, and later graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. He enjoyed fishing from his kayak, and all outside activities. He especially enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Presque Isle Wesleyan Church and considered all members there as part of his family. Roger was employed by Thibeau Farms; where he committed to many hours of hard work and dedication to the farm.
Roger was predeceased by his father, Phillip C. Higgins; and although divorced, by the mother of his two sons, Claire Higgins. Surviving Roger is his mother, Lois (Lovely) Higgins of Presque Isle; two sons, Rodger Higgins and his partner (Matt) of Fort Fairfield; Darren Higgins and his wife, Brandy; and four grandchildren who were clearly the light and love of his life, Jordan, Dylan, Laney, and Rowan, all of Chapman.
Also surviving him are siblings, Jeannie Higgins and her partner (Shane Thomas) of Presque Isle, Daniel Higgins and his wife, Kathy, of Mapleton, Lisa Higgins Dow of Westbrook, Kevin Higgins of Presque Isle, and Heidi Higgins of Kittanning, PA; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Special thanks to his cousin, Bonnie and Sam Martin of Levant, for their, love, kindness and support during this time. Also, a special thanks to his niece/Funeral Director, Rachael Dow and Eric Segee, at Dolby, Blaise & Segee, Windham, ME, for their exceptional care and compassion for our son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, nephew, “gampie”, and friend.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Presque Isle Wesleyan Church, 387 Centerline Rd., Presque Isle, with Pastor Bud Fancy officiating.
