Hospice seeks compassionate volunteers for fall training

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — VNA Home Health Hospice will offer its fall 2018 hospice volunteer training course beginning in October.

The five-session training will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 16 through Nov. 13, at VNA Home Health Hospice, 18 Green Hill Dr. in Presque Isle.

Volunteers may hold a hand, lend an ear, run an errand or provide a comforting presence. Compassionate, reliable individuals with a sincere desire to help are welcome to join our VNA’s team of volunteers.

Volunteers are needed most to help hospice patients at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle. Healthcare experience is not required. Participants will receive the necessary training and support needed for a positive and rewarding volunteer experience.

To learn more or to sign up, contact Robin Haynes, VNA volunteer coordinator, at 764-9404 or rhaynes@emhs.org.
