Local planner attains national treasurer nod

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Presque Isle- and Bangor-based financial services firm of Thompson-Hamel LLC has announced that Pam Scheppele will serve as treasurer of the Women in Insurance and Financial Services.

The group appointed Scheppele at their annual conference in Austin, Texas.

WIFS was founded in 1936 and is an association of financial services professionals working together to attract, develop and advance women. The leadership team champions career opportunities, provides professional development, and represents women’s interests to the profession.

According to Thompson-Hamel officials, WIFS strives to be the global change leader inspiring women to achieve their dreams. Members benefit from monthly educational webinars on a variety of business and professional development topics, a mentorship program and peer connection.

“I’m excited to be a part of a growing organization which strives to inspire women to achieve their dreams,” stated Scheppele.

Scheppele, who holds many industry certifications including the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP), has over 30 years of experience providing retirement planning advice. In this new role, she represents women from all over the country as national board member for WIFS.

Scheppele will serve on the leadership team for two years.
