Aroostook Dream Team bounces back in playoffs to win title

CARIBOU, Maine — The Caribou Adult Men’s League Basketball Championship wrapped up the evening of Monday, April 15, as the Aroostook Dream Team captured the 2019 title.

A total of six squads competed in the league this winter — ReMax North Realty, Caribou Eye Care, Griffeth Ford, Fort Fairfield Alumni and Loring Job Corps. ReMax North finished the regular season in first place with a record of 16-4.

During the double elimination playoff, ReMax beat Aroostook Dream Team forcing the Dream Team to crawl through the loser’s bracket. Meeting again, ADT beat ReMax forcing another game.

In the final championship game, both teams were neck and neck for a majority of the game, but time quickly ran against ReMax and the Aroostook Dream Team took the game, 55-49.

Scoring for ReMax North Realty were: Dustin Haines 13, Stephen St. Peter 11, Roland Thibodeau 8, Brandon Holdsworth 6, Matt Eager 5, Cole Richards 3, Matt Till 2, Colby Holdsworth 1.

Scoring for the Aroostook Dream Team were Greg Whitaker 12, Brad Trask 11, Cameron Bragg 10, Jordan Haines 9, Jeremiah Fitzherbert 6, Carson Hartman 3, Shawn Smith 2, Spencer King 2.
