TOPS – Week of May 21, 2019

The Houlton TOPS chapter met Friday, May 10. There were eight TOPS and three KOPS present. The Loser of the Week was Joanne Scott and runner-up was Denise Clark. Congratulations, ladies. Barbara Whited won the 50/50 and Diane Folsom won the health basket. So many yummy foods are being brought in by the members.

The SRD meeting was in Brewer last Saturday. I’ll talk about the awards our chapter came home with next week.

Jean Merritt presented the program from March/April 2019 TOPS News “Learning to let Go”, think or write down things that you are bottling in, emotions that are bad for us, causing anxiety, sleep problems, and/or overeating. Then Jean went to a 5-Step process that can help us all let go of some of our bottled up, feel bad emotions. Step one, is to focus on one of the emotions you’re currently feeling. Then ask yourself if you can let this feeling go. Believe me, it’s not easy but with support we can let go of “stuff”. Why not join our TOPS group to get the support you might not get at home.

Remember, no one can take care of obligations such as job, family and outside things if you don’t take care of yourself.

We’d love to see you next Friday at your first TOPS meeting. For more information call Pam Richardson at 538-8760.
