House of Comfort grant to boost accommodations

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The directors of the Maine Community Foundation recently awarded a $7,165 grant to the Aroostook Hospice Foundation and the Aroostook House of Comfort to purchase various types of beds.

“This grant allows us to expand sleeping accommodations offered to patients and family members during their stay,” said House of Comfort co-founders Rick and Nancy Duncan.

The Presque Isle facility has been offering compassionate end-of-life care to Aroostook County residents in a homelike setting for over a year. The grant is funded by the Aroostook County Fund and the Pinetree Fund for Aroostook County.
