Caribou Middle School splits games with Presque Isle, Fort Fairfield

CARIBOU, Maine — The Caribou Middle School boys soccer team played two intense games recently against Presque Isle Blue and Fort Fairfield.

Against Presque Isle Blue Sept. 18 at Presque Isle, the Vikings won 6-4 in a hard-fought game. Presque Isle led 4-2 at the half, but the Vikings roared back in the second half for the win, including two goals in the final five minutes.

Leading Caribou offensively were Owen Corrigan, with three goals and an assist; Dee Gagnon and Mason St. Peter, who both added a goal and assist each; Dylan Bouchard, one goal; and Cooper Ouellette and Brayden Brescia each with an assist.

Leading field players were Keegan Bell, Edison Sleeper, Gage Hale, Calvin Hersey, Tristan Robbins, Dawson St. Pierre, and goalie Alex Belanger.

PI was led by Evan Chapman with three goals.

On Sept. 25 at Caribou, the Vikings fell 3-1 to Fort Fairfield in another intense and tightly-contested game. Fort Fairfield took an early 2-0 lead at halftime and held on for the win. Caribou had many scoring chances, but could not finish them. 

Brayden Brescia scored the lone goal for Caribou from a Dylan Bouchard assist. Jace Violette, Joe Peter-Paul and Eyzic McBreairty-Bouchard all played well in the field.
