NEW LIMERICK, Maine — Well folks, we are winding it down the golf season. After Sunday, Oct. 13, the Proshop will only be open Wednesday through Sunday for carts and green fees when the restaurant is open.

The crew will be preparing to put to close out the season as we put the course to bed for another year. The irrigation on the course will be winterized on Wednesday and machinery and some of the golf carts will also be put away. I want to thank the crew this year for helping me through this first year. It is nice to have people that have been here before. They deserve to compliments I have received this year. Let’s hope next year will be even better.

The Lakeside Restaurant will still be open into November. On Friday, Oct. 25, the restaurant will host its “October Fest.” Entertainment will be provided by Paul LaPointe, featuring all your favorite tunes from the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Call Nancy at 694-9494 for your reservations.

An event of interest is coming this Saturday as a “Celebration of Life” for our friend Greg Palmer will be held. Palmer has been a long time member and would like to chat with all his friends while enjoying his other love of music. This will be held at the Linneus Sno-Sports Clubhouse starting at 2 p.m. All are welcome to visit.

The staff here at Houlton Community Golf Course wish you all a fantastic winter season and I hope to see you on the course in the spring.

Houlton Community Golf Course is located on 6 Country Club Drive in New Limerick. For more information on the course call 532-2662, email houltongolf@gmail.com or visit their website www.houltongolf.com.
