New real estate agency, modular home service opens in Presque Isle

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — October marked the opening of SG Reality of Maine, a real estate agency and modular home seller, on Main Street in Presque Isle.

SG Realty of Maine is a division of Schiavi Homes, based in Oxford. Presque Isle natives Dan Amero, designated broker and location manager, and Dan Castle, sales agent and planner, are longtime employees of the local retail estate market, having 12 and two years of experience, respectively. They previously worked for Big Bear Realty in Presque Isle.

Amero and Castle said that SG Realty is a full-service real estate agency that offers virtual tours online and drone footage that can allow potential buyers to view homes anytime.

With the modular home sales service — called SG Factory Direct Homes — the owners can work with people to design a factory-built home and choose a location for the house. Amero noted that the major difference between existing homes and modular homes is that modular homes are newly built and offer a full one-year warranty.

“We serve all of Aroostook County,” Amero said. “We think having a local presence on the modular homes side will be a big plus for this region. People won’t have to go to Bangor to learn about the process.”

SG Realty of Maine is located on 375 Main St. in Presque Isle next to The Cubby Thriftstore and Pine Tree Legal.

“No matter where people are in the process, we’d be happy to talk with them,” Castle said. “For modular homes, the winter season is the perfect time for us to design before we place homes in the spring.”
