Star Bright Children’s Theatre seeks young actors

HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Star Bright Children’s Theatre will hold auditions for this year’s production from  2:45-4:45 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22, at First Baptist Church on Court Street. Children in grades three to six are welcome to audition.

The production, “Star Bright — On the Air!,” will take both performers and audience back to old time radio, with four plays, complete with sound effects, set in a radio studio.  Each actor will be cast in one of the plays, which will be directed by Gary Farnham, Barbara Hogan, Paula Lilley, and Mary Miller.

“Star Bright — On the Air!” will be performed Friday and Saturday, April 10-11, at Houlton Community Performing Arts Center; plans are also underway to record the production for broadcast on WHOU. Rehearsals for each play will be one or two times per week.

Students should bring information on other after-school commitments to the audition, and a parent/guardian will need to sign the registration form.

Houlton Star Bright Children’s Theatre, continuously running since its founding in 1968, is a non-profit community organization dedicated to staging plays for children, by children. For further information, contact Board of Directors president Gary Farnham, 538-9492, gfarnham@stillwatersstudio.net.
