Houlton Police log – May 2020

HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Police Department has resumed providing its log of activity to the newspaper. The department responded to the following incidents for the month of May, 2020.

Sunday, May 17

8:29 a.m. — Officer Cyr responded to High Street to investigate a theft/forgery/fraud complaint. 

10:20 a.m. — Officer Clayton responded to North Street for an animal complaint.

10:34 a.m. — Officer Cyr responded to Sunnyside Street to investigate a domestic disturbance.

12:06 p.m. — Officer Clayton responded to North Street for a well-being check.

1:05 p.m. — Officer Cyr responded to Military Street to assist a citizen.

5:26 p.m. — Officer Cyr responded to Military Street to investigate a complaint.

7:05 p.m. — Officer Campbell responded to Randall Avenue to assist a citizen.

7:51 p.m. — Officer Smith responded to Military Street to summon April Drew, 31 of Houlton, for operating a vehicle without a license.

8:02 p.m. — Officer Smith responded to Military Street to assist a citizen.

9:14 p.m. — Officer Campbell responded to Market Street to assist a citizen.

9:29 p.m. — Officer Smith responded to Franklin Avenue to summon Devon Sheaves, 20, of Houlton for operating while license suspended or revoked. Officer Smith also arrested Nicholas Ireland, 22, Houlton for operating while license suspended or revoked.

9:49 p.m. — Officer Smith responded to High Street to investigate a domestic disturbance.

10:49 p.m. — Officer Smith responded to Smyrna Street to investigate a domestic assault.

Saturday, May 16

5:10 a.m. — Officer Smith responded to Kelleran Street to investigate suspicious activity.

1:48 p.m. — Officer Cyr responded to Sugarloaf Street to investigate a theft/forgery/fraud complaint.

4:24 p.m. — Officer Cyr responded to B Road to investigate a motor vehicle complaint.

7:33 p.m. — Officer Smith responded to River Street to assist another agency.

8:40 p.m. — Officer Smith responded to Columbia Street to investigate a 9-1-1 hang-up.

10:17 p.m. — Officer Smith responded to High Street to arrest James Grant, 26, of Houlton for aggravated trafficking of a scheduled drug and operating while license suspended or revoked.

Friday,  May 15

1:55 p.m. — Officer Campbell responded to North Street to investigate a burglar alarm.

2:51 a.m. — Cpl. Janakis responded to North Street to investigate a burglar alarm.

2:03 p.m. — Officer Clayton responded to North Street to arrest Dorothy Hardy, 42, of Houlton for hindering apprehension or prosecution. Officer Clayton also arrested Benjamin Ireland, 24, for refusing to submit to arrest or detention,  possession of methamphetamine, violating conditions of release,  criminal simulation and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

5:33 p.m. — Officer Cyr responded to Spring Street to summon Nicholas Ireland, 22, of Houlton for operating after license suspension.

7:27 p.m. — Officer Campbell responded to Ludlow Road to investigate a complaint.

8:02 p.m. — Officer Smith responded to Bangor Street to summon Amanda Haney, 33, of Houlton for refusing to submit to arrest or detention.  Officer Smith also arrested Joseph Hamel, 33, of Houlton for violation of a protection order.

9:33 p.m. — Officer Smith responded to Military Street to investigate a theft/forgery/fraud complaint.

Thursday, May 14

11:14 a.m. — Officer Heath responded to Kendall Street to assist another agency.

12:13 p.m. — Officer Dudley responded to Pearce Avenue to assist a citizen.

1:12 p.m. — Officer Heath responded to North Street to investigate a motor vehicle accident.

1:23 p.m. — Officer Dudley responded to Ludlow Road to investigate a report of criminal mischief.

2:55 p.m. — Officer Heath responded to North Street to investigate a theft/forgery/fraud.

3:02 p.m. — Lt. Bickford responded to HPD lobby to assist a citizen.

6:04 p.m. — Officer Campbell responded to North Street to assist a citizen.
