Kathy Larsen has recently been hired as the animal control officer for the town of Easton, replacing Kevin Marquis.

She can be reached at 207-488-6634 and encourages phone calls with any animal concerns.

On May 26, she received a call about a dog who appeared to be in serious medical condition.  He was not responsive and unfortunately had no license or any other information to find out where he lived. The small group of people who found him stayed until she got there.

Larsen offered kudos to all of them and said she was so proud, and that this proves people do care.

The dog was taken to the nearest vet, though unfortunately he did not make it.

Easton residents, please don’t hesitate to call Larsen if something does not appear right. You could perhaps save a life.

Maine has laws to protect animals, who have no voice.
