Golf tourney raises funds for cancer patients

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Caring Area Neighbors for Cancer Education & Recovery, known as C-A-N-C-E-R for short, held its 21st annual fundraising golf tournament on Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Presque Isle Country Club.

Perfect weather contributed to a fine day for all participating, organizers said.

First gross for the women, 72, went to Libby Bonne, Wendy Boucher, Cecila McLellan and Jennifer Flynn.

Earning women’s first net, 63, were Jenice Jarvis, Sheila Nemer, Kathy Levesque & Sue Nickerson

For the men, first gross, 57, went to Paul Towle, Rick Collins, Himie Towle and Tom Towle.

First net, 48, went to Jared Duggan, Katie Roy, Eric Miller and Jimmy Shrohm.

All proceeds from this fundraiser stay in Aroostook County, assisting cancer patients in treatment and their families.
