LIMESTONE, Maine — The Limestone Development Foundation/Chamber of Commerce said Sunday that the town’s annual light parade was moved from Dec. 6 to Saturday, Dec. 12, due to the snow storm.

Michelle Albert, president of the LDF/Chamber, said the parade’s theme is “A Small Town Christmas.” The line-up will begin at the Limestone Community School Parking lot at 5 p.m., with judging commencing at 5:30 p.m. The procession itself will begin at 6 p.m., with floats traveling down Main Street.

Santa Claus is also slated to make an appearance during the event.

Albert urged all attendees to follow CDC guidelines while out and about.

Albert said anyone interested in signing up to be a part of the parade, and also for a chance to win cash prizes, can email chamber@limestonemaine.org or call 207-949-3633.

According to the Chamber’s social media page, the prizes for the top three floats are: $100 for first place, $75 for second and $50 for third place.

“We’re looking to bring some Christmas cheer during these crazy times,” Albert said.
