Wildcats skate to tie with Hampden

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Presque Isle Wildcats skated to a 4-4 tie with visiting Hampden Academy Saturday at the Forum.

Hampden jumped to a quick 2-0 lead in the first half as Mike Delahanty and Parker Shawley each scored a solo goal.

Presque Isle countered with three goals of its own as Quinn Demerchant tallied two goals and Jonah Roy had one to give the ‘Cats a 3-2 halftime advantage.

In the second half, Keith Brooks and Tucker Leland each scored for Hampden as the Broncos went back on top 4-3. Later in the half, Roy scored his second goal, to make it 4-4.

Neither team was able to score in overtime, resulting in the tie.

Cooper Ryan faced 24 shots for Hampden, Brandon Poitras faced 43 shots for the Wildcats.
