PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Aroostook County District Attorney Todd Collins has announced the promotion of Kari Wells-Puckett to deputy district attorney for Maine Prosecutorial District 8, Aroostook County.

“Kari has been an assistant district attorney with us for six years, during which time she has held positions in both the Houlton and Presque Isle offices, proving  herself to be a committed advocate for the people of Aroostook County and Maine,” Collins said.

Prior to joining the district attorney’s office, Wells-Puckett was an associate attorney with the law offices of  Marden-Dubord and Bemis & Rossignol, both in Presque Isle.

“She brought with her an energy and enthusiasm that she has continued to use while taking over  the leadership role in the Presque Isle office of the Aroostook County district attorney,” Collins said.

Wells-Puckett came to the district attorney’s office after the retirement of the prior deputy district attorney, Carrie Linthicum, in December 2020 following 35 years of service.

With a background in business law and financial investigations, Wells-Puckett has an overall understanding  of how to improve prosecutions of complex criminal cases, further improve the enforcement of criminal forfeitures, guide law enforcement personnel in securing and executing search warrants, and exact a measure of justice for crime victims in The County.
