Grand Jury hands up 57 indictments for April

HOULTON, Maine — A Crystal man who was arrested after another person was shot in what police described as an act of domestic violence was among the 57 individuals indicted by the Aroostook County Grand Jury in April.

John Bragdon, 57, was originally charged with elevated aggravated assault for his alleged involvement in the Jan. 13 shooting in Crystal. Police released very few details on the assault, only stating that the victim was taken by helicopter to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

The Grand Jury indicted Bragdon on charges of attempted murder, domestic violence reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, elevated aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm.

Many other drug possession and domestic violence cases dominated the April indictments, which include the following.
