HOULTON, Maine — Wednesday, Nov. 24, is the final night of the 66th Annual Rotary Radio, TV and Internet Auction presented by the Houlton Rotary Club.

The auction runs from 6:-9:30 p.m. Nov. 23 and Nov. 24 and is broadcast on WHOU 100.1 FM and on TV on Spectrum Cable Channel 1302 and Pioneer Cable Channel 100.  A live webcast of the auction can also be accessed through www.houltonrotary.org and on the Rotary and WHOU Facebook pages.

In addition to the items in the 20-minute periods and Wednesday Night Special items that are featured for the evening, this is also the final opportunity to bid on the 3 Night Specials that have been running since Monday.

The successful bidders at the close of the auction Wednesday evening will be awarded the 3-Night Specials, including the camp package from Ward Log Homes.  Additionally, it is the final night for bidding on the Facebook auction items.

A complete listing of items for bid can be picked up at area businesses or at the auction room at Watson Hall on Main Street.  The list is also posted on www.houltonrotary.org and searches can be done to find a specific item or donor.  Successful bidders are listed at this site and the search function for this listing, as well.

Successful bidders can pick up their items at the auction storeroom, which is located at Watson Hall.  Storeroom hours for the remainder of the week are as follows:  Wednesday, Nov. 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2-5 p.m.; Thursday, Nov. 25 (Thanksgiving), 9 a.m. to noon; and Friday, Nov. 26, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-5 p.m.

Friday is the final day to pick up items from the storeroom. The storeroom number is 207-521-5891. Those picking up their items are reminded to bring a list of their item numbers and amount of bid for reconciliation with the storeroom list. A drive-thru option is again available for the storeroom.  Payments can be made by cash, check or credit card and all items must be paid for in full at the time of pick-up.

Pledges will continue to be accepted for the Boy and the Boot Endowment Fund sponsored by the Houlton Regional Health Services Foundation. The $1,000 pledge to the Health Services Foundation is in commemoration of Clara Frisbee’s $1,000 gift to the town that was used to purchase the Boy and the Boot statue.  When the pledge is completed, the donor will receive a limited-edition pewter replica of the iconic statue.

Individuals may also make additional donations to Rotary’s major projects. For a $100 donation, contributors will become a Houlton Rotary Partner and will receive a special Rotary Partner pin.  All 100 percent of this gift will benefit this year’s projects, which include extension of the Meduxnekeag River Walking Trail as well as Northern Maine Lacrosse, JMG, new Community Garden at HRH, Backpacks For Kids and the Rainbow For Haiti effort and several others.  Donors may also choose to make a $25 contribution to Cary Library for the purchase of books.  Recognition for donors will appear on book plates inside the donated books.

To call in a bid or to make a pledge, call 521-5894 or statewide toll free at 1-866-521-5894.
