AUGUSTA, Maine – Abbey Violette, a Thomas College junior studying marketing management, has joined Marshall Communications this summer as an intern. This internship will provide her experience in the industry of public relations, and Violette will have a role in creating projects across all content functions and learn her strengths along the way.
Nancy Marshall, CEO of Marshall Communications, states, “I am thrilled to have Abbey on our team as an intern from Thomas College and the amazing Harold Alfond Center for Business Innovation which provides funding for these internships. We have had a long and strong relationship with Thomas College, dating back to the 1990s when I earned my MBA there. Our Vice President Whitney Raymond also holds her B.S. and MBA from Thomas and our relationship manager, Emma Dimock, holds a B.S. degree from there. The marketing program at Thomas College provides a valuable foundation for a career with Marshall Communications but there’s nothing like the on-the-job experience that our employees gain every day, and we look forward to seeing Abbey’s career grow and flourish while she is learning from all of us.”
Violette, who is an Aroostook County native from Caribou, is excited to have the opportunity of an internship and gain the valuable experience and knowledge to grow her career once she earns her B.S. degree next spring.
“I am honored to have had the opportunity for an internship here at Marshall Communications during the summer,” says Violette. “Thomas has equipped me with the knowledge necessary, but this experience will teach what cannot be learned in the classroom. I am so grateful that Marshall Communications has welcomed me to be a part of their team, empowering me to exercise my knowledge to create, share my ideas and speak to clients.”
