Whitehead joins Loring Job Corps

LIMESTONE, Maine — The Loring Job Corps Center and Career Systems Development Corporation has announced Robert Whitehead as the new director of human resources.

Whitehead brings to Loring more than 30 years of leadership, training and policy development. He holds a degree in business administration from Husson University.

Prior to joining team Loring, he served with distinction for more than 23 years with Defense Finance and Accounting Service, where he was division chief for Transportation Working Capital. That department provided synchronized military transportation and sustainment, making it possible to project and maintain national power where needed, with the greatest speed and agility, the highest efficiency, and most reliable level of trust and accuracy available.

Prior to his decades of service at DFAS, Whitehead also served his country proudly for 10 years in the United States Air Force.

As the HR Director, he will be responsible for the entire human resources department and staff recruiting programs, and will be the primary training manager for the entire center. One of his additional roles will be that of  the Equal Opportunity officer for all staff members.

His main focus will be working with staff and students to become as successful as possible in a positive, professional and supportive manner also. His motto is: teamwork making the dream work.

He chose to relocate to northern Maine from Denver, Colorado, as he felt it was a far better place then being in a sprawling metropolis. He and his wife, Sheri, and Finely their Goldendoodle love the slower-paced lifestyle in Limestone, he said.

In their free time, he and his wife enjoy traveling and exploring the outdoors.
