Fort Kent Girls Tennis bound for finals

FORT KENT, Maine — For the first time in more than 30 years, Fort Kent’s girls tennis team is in the northern Maine finals.

The team hosted Piscataquis June 1 in a semifinal matchup. Fort Kent registered a 5-0 win to move on to the finals in Lewiston against Washington Academy.  The last time Fort Kent made it to a Northern Maine final was in 1992.  

Individual results for Fort Kent were as follows.

No. 1 singles: Anah Albert defeated Norah MacMahon (7-5 and 6-1).

No. 2 singles: Julia Cyr defeated Emily Easten (6-2  and 6-1).

No. 3 singles: Hannah Lovley defeated Arianna Crosby (6-2, 4-6, and 7-4 in a tie breaker.  

No. 1 doubles: Mia Voisine and Madeline Philbrook defeated Khloe Kimball and Anna Zimmerman (6-0 and 6-1)  .

No. 2 doubles: Logan Stedt and Shelby Theriault defeated Lily Carr and Gabriella Kascienly (6-1 and 7-0 in a tiebreaker.
