Katahdin Federal Credit Union: banking alternative

In 1954, the founding members of the Federal Credit Union wanted to provide a means to cooperatively help fellow members achieve financial success. Today, the Katahdin Federal Credit Union is maintaining that vision.
“Katahdin Federal has been actively investing in technology, striving to bring additional conveniences to our members,” said Tina Jamo, president/CEO. “This last year, we introduced mobile banking and upgraded Money Connection, our audio response system.
“We also joined the Co-Op Shared Branching Network in January, which enables members to take advantage of credit union access at more than 5,000 locations nationwide,” she added. “A number of remote applications are in the works for this year. We are currently working on an online account opening application, electronic document exchange, updated web site and remote deposit capture. We want to make it easier than ever for members to do business with us!”
Katahdin Federal Credit Union offers an array of services, which can be accessed through its local branch office or on a mobile device.
“Our member-driven staff work hard towards fulfilling members’ needs and have become member advocates,” said Jamo. “The staff prides themselves on earning the member’s business and trust through their exemplary service. Basically every financial institution, and non-traditional providers, offer the same products and services but not all offer the personal level of service we do.”
The lobby of the Katahdin Federal Credit Union is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the drive-up window available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is a night depository and the ATM systems are available 24 hours, seven days a week, at both the Millinocket and Island Falls. locations.
